NGC891 GALAXY SIMILAR TO OURS

The shape of the NGC891 galaxy
Observing the starry sky, people often do not even think about the size of what they see. And they see very little, it can be freely said — they see almost nothing. Many know that all the stars they see belong to our Milky Way. Our Milky Way is a very beautiful object, but there is something that will surprise many. It is still unknown what the Milky Way really looks like. There are theoretical assumptions by which we get the appearance of the Milky Way. Unfortunately, the exact spiral shape of our Milky Way is still 100% unknown. And yet, sometimes the question arises — is there a NGC891 galaxy in space that is similar to the Milky Way?

By all assumptions we can say YES. One such object can be seen in the constellation Andromeda, at a distance of 30 million light-years. It is the NGC891. Discovered in August 1783, the objecthas a thin stellar disk, and a central stellar bulge. Because we see NGC891 all the way from the side, that protrusion is easily visible. By studying the central shape — we know that the Milky Way also has that central bulge. Around NGC891 is a streak of dust that “divides the galaxy into two parts” in the middle. This scene is clearly visible with a 25 centimeter (and larger) telescopes. NGC891 galaxy is a very beautiful object of deep space, and astronomers often observe it.
